Peach Pie Anyone?

I came across that quote today and it made me smile so I thought I'd share. It also inspired me to bake a peach pie with all these lovely peaches we picked over the weekend. I claim to be a pretty decent chef, but am pretty much clueless when it comes to baking so this should be quite interesting. Who am I kidding? I am going to delegate the task to my wonderfully amazing mother as I have every other baking obligation I ever volunteered for. Why couldn't I have inherited just one single talent from Ninny???

Third times a charm....

At least that's what they say. Let's see if the old adage holds true with my blogging. So where do I even begin?? How about with the past weekend....

We had a relaxing weekend on the river with some of my favorite people. Luis was working and was not able to make it up, but the girls and I had a great time with Granny, Gig, Jess, Paige, Nick and Olivia.

Saturday morning Granny, Bri, Paige, Nadia and I went to pick peaches, blackberries and strawberries at http://www.marburgerorchard.com/ If anyone happens to be in the Fredericksburg area in the next few weeks you should definitely stop by. Even if you are not in the mood to pick your own they have tons of fresh produce grown right there for you to purchase.

We fished, swam, roasted marshmallows by the fire pit, canoed and had a fabulous dinners compliments of uncle Jess.

Bella was not happy about not being able to join the big girls in the waterfall

I think she wore herself out with all the fun she was having because she woke up Sunday morning with a fever and a tummy ache.

After a dose of Tylenol and a loooong nap on Gig's shoulder she was back to normal

Everyone had an awesome time. It was extra special because my Granny accompanied us. The girls and I really enjoyed being able to spend the time with her.

Back to B-more

Trisha and Dave are selling their home and moving back to Baltimore. This is bittersweet for me considering I will miss them a ton, but I miss the east coast trips; sitting on her porch or at a dive on Fell's street....or at Daniels Biker Bar. The Graduate

On June 3rd my baby girl graduated from elementary. It was bitter sweet. She is growing way too fast, but growing into such an amazing young lady at the same time. She is intelligent, compassionate, confident, polite and funny. I have always been so proud of her and she never ceases to impress me. Brianna received the presidents award from Barack Obama for maintaining an A average for the entire 5th grade year! She also received a citizenship and merit award. Way to go Bri Bri, keep up the hard work in Jr. High and you will ROCK!

Memorial Day Weekend

What a way to kick off the summer....First and foremost I would like to acknowledge and thank all of our heroic veterans and troops that have sacrificed their time, families and lives so that we can have the ability to enjoy ours. God Bless our troops.

We had a wonderful weekend partying it up with family and friends. Between the 4 of us we had 6 parties to attend, not counting the ones we threw. Needless to say we are all taking it easy this Tuesday. Thank goodness we all have the day off to recuperate. Summer break can not get here fast enough.
